Wedding at Nolhaga/Bröllop på Nolhaga

This past weekend, a lovely young couple got married at Nolhaga Slott, where I work. It was the first of many weddings that I will have the pleasure to plan, decorate and serve this year. 

I helgen som gick gifte sig ett härligt, ungt par på Nolhaga Slott, min arbetsplats. Det var det första i raden av många bröllop som jag kommer att ha nöjet att planera, dekorera och servera under det kommande året.

The S in gold on our chinaware stands for Slott (= castle).

It was a small and intimate ceremony, which was also held in the Castle, and then the dinner and party followed in one of our beautiful dining rooms called Salong Alströmer.

Det var en liten och intim ceremoni, som även den hölls i slottet, och middagen och festen som följde hölls i en av våra vackra salar, Salong Alströmer.

The fireplace is an original and was placed in the dining room
when the castle was first built by Claes Adelsköld in1880.

May I present to you the beautiful Nolhaga Slott [Nolhaga Castle], an Italian Villa in Alingsås operating conferences and banquets.

This amazing castle is my new workplace and I am the new Castle Manager.

Får jag presentera vackra Nolhaga Slott för er! En italiensk villa i Alingsås med restaurang, festvåning och konferensfaciliteter. 

Detta fantastiska slott är min nya arbetsplats och jag är ny Slottsansvarig.

The Castle is located in the middle of the beautiful Nolhaga Park, which the famous Jonas Alströmer (known for being the one who introduced the potato to the Swedish population) himself created during the 18th century. Alströmer also lived in the mansion at the very spot the castle is now at, although the Italian Villa was built on the old mansion grounds by Claes Adelsköld in the late 19th century.

Slottet ligger mitt i den mycket vackra Nolhaga Park, som den välkände Jonas Alströmer (som införde potatisen i Sverige) själv anlade under 1700-talet. Familjen Alströmer bodde i herrgården som låg på samma ställe som slottet nu ligger på. Den italienska villan uppfördes dock på samma grund som det gamla boningshuset av Claes Adelsköld under sent 1800-tal.
